Human Resources Generalist (Full-Time)

Under limited supervision, participates in developing and implementing human resources policies and procedures. Monitors and maintains compliance with human resources regulatory requirements and responds to inquiries regarding human resources related matters. Responsible for confidential administrative and personnel activities as well as the administration of system-wide human resources programs and trainings for supervisors. Work is performed with significant opportunities for exercising independent judgment and initiative. Education/Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, and three years of relevant experience which would provide the required knowledge and skills and allows successful performance of the job.  Position is full-time.  Salary is $40,000-$50,000 and will be commensurate with relevant experience.  Reports to CEO.

Receptionist (Full-Time)

The Receptionist represents Coalition for the Homeless as the first impression of the agency to all visitors and guests. This position monitors access to the shelter and provides excellent customer service as well as administrative support to the staff. The position of Receptionist requires a high degree of professionalism, commitment and adaptability in order to effectively uphold Coalition values and maintain an environment of dignity, respect and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• The Receptionist must possess at least a high school diploma or GED.
• Excellent customer service experience a must.
• Understanding of the homeless population desirable.
• Must be proficient in written and verbal communication.
• The ability to effectively serve a very diverse population with aptitude in the areas of conflict resolution, critical thinking and problem solving.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours based upon needs of the agency.
• Bi-lingual candidates and Veterans are encouraged to apply

PRIMARY DUTIES:
• Provide appropriate assistance and/or information to guests, visitors, volunteers and donors.
• Greet all persons as they enter the building in a professional manner while monitoring and distributing badges.
• Screen all individuals requiring access beyond the lobby.
• Answer phones and route them to the proper individual and take messages when necessary.
• Attend staff meetings as required.
• Provide administrative support as requested by supervisor.
• Perform any and all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Safety & Security Staff (Full and Part-Time

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Safety & Security, and the general guidance of the Senior Director of Program Operations, the Safety & Security Staff will be responsible to screen persons entering through different locations on campus.  Based upon the area assigned the Safety & Security Staff may be posted at either the pedestrian gate or lobby entrances. The position of Safety & Security Staff requires a high degree of professionalism, commitment and adaptability in order to effectively uphold Coalition Values and maintain an environment of dignity, respect and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The Safety & Security Staff must possess at least a high school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in safety, security and customer service with some understanding of the homeless population.
  • Must be proficient in written and verbal communication.
  • The ability to effectively serve a very diverse population with aptitude in the areas of conflict resolution, critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours to include evenings, weekends and emergency coverage.
  • Bi-lingual candidates and veterans are encouraged to apply

 

PRIMARY DUTIES:  (Pedestrian Gate)

  • Greet pedestrians at the Parramore Gate.
  • Promote the safety of staff, visitors and guests.
  • Screen all persons entering property, allow access to authorized pedestrians.
  • Provide directions and instructions to persons entering as needed.
  • Report any safety, security and facility concerns to appropriate staff and document if warranted.
  • Maintain radio communication at all times while on duty.
  • Complete appropriate logs for persons entering property.
  • Address crisis situations if needed and contact appropriate support. Such as other staff, emergency medical or law enforcement.
  • Submit accurate written documentation as per agency policy in a timely fashion.
  • Communicate with guests and other staff on an ongoing basis.
  • Perform other duties as directed by immediate supervisor.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES: (Lobby Attendant)

  • Greet persons as they enter into facilities.
  • Promote the safety of staff, visitors and guests.
  • Screen all persons entering facilities, verify proper I.D. displayed upon entry.
  • Check property before entering facility; utilize metal detector and/or wand to screen persons upon entry.
  • Report any safety, security and facility concerns to appropriate staff and document if warranted.
  • Maintain radio communication at all times while on duty.
  • Complete appropriate logs for persons entering facility
  • Address crisis situations if needed and contact appropriate support.  Such as other staff, emergency medical or law enforcement.
  • Submit accurate written documentation as per agency policy in a timely fashion.
  • Communicate with guests and other staff on an ongoing basis.
  • Perform other duties as directed by immediate supervisor.

  • Ability to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time.
  • Perform job duties in various types of weather.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task and work as a team player.
