COALITION DECLARES “COLD NIGHTS”
OPEN TO ANYONE SEEKING OVERNIGHT SHELTER
ORLANDO, Fla. – (January 3, 2018) – Due to forecasted low temperatures, Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida has declared Wednesday, January 3 through Saturday, January 6 as “Cold Nights.” This means that the Coalition will not refuse any person seeking shelter from the cold, regardless of space.
The Coalition campus is located at 639 West Central Boulevard in downtown Orlando. Beginning at 7:00 PM, overflow space will be available for single women and families in the Center for Women and Families and for single men in the Men’s Service Center.
Donations of jackets, sweatpants, men’s underwear, and full-sized blankets are greatly appreciated. Items can be dropped off weekdays, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, at the reception desk in the Center for Women and Families.
About Coalition for the Homeless
Each day, Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida serves nearly 500 men, women, and children. As a housing-focused shelter, when a family or individual arrives at our doors, is it our goal to help them stabilize, increase their income, and most importantly, get into housing as quickly as possible. Last year, nearly 1,000 of our guests moved from one of our programs into permanent housing.
